Sheer brilliance….the author uses the term “Trojan Horse” and its a good one. While Microsoft continues to limit Windows desktop’s potential in the cloud due to legacy licensing, Google bares Chromes Trojan strategy with native-style packaged apps – Computerworld.
If you visit the Chrome packaged apps store, you will see not only a developer guide but real-world business applications. Combine Google Apps with a CRM Chrome app, an Accounting and Financial Chrome app on a Linux desktop and Google provides a real alternative to SMBs. Add this requisite desktop/laptop/tablet/smartphone functionality for at least a 25% savings compared to Microsoft (just on VDA license savings for a virtual desktop) and every SMB should get a comparison between keeping Microsoft or moving to Google….and yes, Chrome apps are supported on iOS.
