With all the activity at VMWorld, this article touches upon a significant validation of Desktone as the DaaS platform leader ( VMware Desktop as a Service will be powered by Desktone | UP2V ).
Still the only multi-tenant solution for cloud hosted virtual desktops, Desktone partners are companies that believe in the potential of wide-spread use of DaaS. Selecting Desktone over the on-prem VDI leaders (Citrix, VMWare View) requires stripping away biases and competitive “marketecture” and doing a comparative analysis of a platform’s cloud-readiness.
From existing Desktone partners that just “got it” early on (e.g. NaviSite, Kumo, et al) to those that did a DETAILED analysis over a few years time (e.g. Dell, VMWare, Cisco et al), Desktone will win.
For Desktone partners, this means they can begin not only becoming true advisors to their customers in the area of DaaS (and cloud) but that they can begin building their competencies in integrating DaaS with UC, including integrated endpoints from companies such as Dell Wyse.
