Corporate innovation & growth, CIO opportunity? – PwC Survey Infographic

PwC’s recent survey, which can be downloaded at , resulted in the below infographic.  While not a surprise in and of itself (businesses that innovate achieve higher growth), strategic CIOs stand to gain by understanding:

  • As within the business, innovation is a necessity within IT too
  • If the survey’s leaders “innovate… business model,”  shouldn’t running IT like a business with a  focus on transparency be IT’s primary strategic objective?
  • External collaboration, including using social media, with partners, vendors and customers is key for developing new products and services.  For CIOs, how much collaboration is your team involved with?  Internally as well as externally?  For new products, services, business models? What can IT lead in terms of corporate data, process and integration (cloud and social networking) that will help drive corporate innovation?
